Red, White and Blue! Hatch Beauchamp celebrates the Platinum Jubilee

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee was celebrated in style by all schools associated with The Redstart Learning Partnership including us at Hatch.

Before the half term break we arranged a celebratory day with a red, white and blue theme.  Children and staff were invited to wear clothes in the Union Jack colours for the day and a host of activities were arranged to include: games, arts and crafts, assembly, singing, dancing and so much more.

In total across the Trust approximately 1500 primary school children and their families enjoyed the celebrations.

The day was a fabulous success and a great start to the national Jubilee celebrations.

As part of the commemorations The Redstart Learning Partnership also arranged an all school Arts competition to create Jubilee themed artwork.  The judging panel included Suzanne Flack, CEO, Ethne Staniland, TRLP Art Subject Lead and local artist Sue Lennox.   The competition entries were exceptional and the judges had a very difficult task to choose the winners.  Prizes were awarded for each year group (from Reception to year 6), the winning entries had their work displayed at the Brewhouse Theatre, Taunton to coincide with our Performing arts festival.

Sienna from year 5 here at Hatch was one of the very worthy winners.
