We really enjoyed a visit by John the Beekeeper last Friday, who not only gave a fascinating talk about bees (I never knew there were so many different types) but he also brought in two beekeeper suits for the children to try on. The children’s faces were a sight to behold, ranging from rapt attention to mild disgust; especially when we learnt that honey is basically regurgitated bee spit! Any one for toast?

Congratulations are due to our cricketers and quad-sports people who had great fun and performed will during the last week. Our cricketers won two out of their three matches, including a nail-biting 17 runs off the final over to clinch the second win. WOW!

Please keep a close eye on our calendar of events as there is a lot happening in the final part of the school year!

Don’t forget that our nursery will be opening five days a week after half term! If you are interested in taking an extra place, or know of someone who would like to join us, please let Miss Suchacki or Weronika know. This is fantastic news for the school and we would like to thank everyone who has supported us in establishing such wonderful provision.

School Ties and jumpers. In the event of us being able to enjoy some lovely, hot weather this term, please still send your children to school in their tie and jumper so that our public image is still strong and tidy. Staff will allow children to remove ties and jumpers at school during the day. Thank you for supporting that.

A Message from Lindsay Gabriel

The children have settled beautifully and seem really happy and their new classes.  The new Reception children have taken to school life realy well and are part of the team. We welcome Mrs King, who is with us in Oak Class on a Thursday afternoon, to cover Mr Harnett's class release time. We will be welcoming a new part-time handyman, who will be appointed shortly.  With Mr Price leaving we are in the process of recruiting a new PE lead. Our new School Council have been elected and they will be busy working on practical ideas to improve the school.   We enjoyed a visit by Akulah Agbami from the Arts Council of England today.  She has been working with the Oaks Class writing poetry and they very much enjoyed her visit and produced some excellent work.  Mr Harnett will be giving more information. Thank you very much to the mums who helped get ready for the Macmillian Coffee Morning earlier today.  We hope to have raised a good amount of money for this great cause. We would like to welcome you all to our Open Day on Friday 4th October 10 - 12 noon and 1 - 3pm please do come and visit the school and see us in operation.  We have our first parent drop in session on Wednesday 9th October from 2.30pm so everyone is welcome to join us then. We are just organising our Harvest Festival time and date at the Church and are waiting for the date to be confirmed.  Details will be sent out as soon as it is confirmed. Thank you for all your support.  Categories: 1 CategorySchool News
